MARSHALLS CREEK, Pa. — At the Monroe County Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Marshalls Creek,  there are all sorts of items for your home, from furniture, lights, and even tubs. One on display isn’t your average tub.

“You know, with Pennsylvania being the honeymoon destination of the world, the tubs have great history, and they are very, very popular. Some people just come in just to see the tub as well as shop, so it’s an awesome piece of history that we’re able to hold in the store,” said ReStore manager Kelly Stolberg. The nonprofit received several of the iconic Pocono heart-shaped tubs from the new owners of Poconos Caesars Palace.  One was raffled off last year around Labor Day.

“It was close to $1,000. We did have people who bought raffle tickets from even Vegas, who you know, one of their stake at winning the raffle tub, so yeah, it was a nice turnout,” explained Stolberg.

Another tub is up for grabs in the latest raffle, happening just in time for Valentine’s Day. The store manager says the community’s support helps to raise money for the non-profit’s mission.

“This is helping your neighbors in Monroe County stay in equitable housing. Everyone deserves to have a house that is not only dignified, but safe enough for them to live in,” said Stolberg. The winner will be drawn on February 13th at noon. To learn more about how to try your luck at a piece of Pocono history, click here.
