Habitat ReStore

Donate to our ReStore

Donations to our ReStore help us ensure that everyone in Monroe County has a safe, decent place to live.

If you would like to donate to our ReStore, you may either drop your item(s) off at our ReStore, or request a donation pickup. It is important that you thoroughly review our accepted donation list prior to submitting your donation.

We currently accept donation drop-offs anytime during the hours, 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday. Donations can be brought to our operating location: 2610 Milford Road East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

Donation Drop-Off

In order to drop-off a donation to our warehouse, please:

  1. Review our full list of accepted donation items.
  2. Call our ReStore Manager Amanda at (570) 216-4390 to ensure someone can assist you with your donation drop-off.
  3. Bring your item(s) to our ReStore located at 2610 Milford Road East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

Donation Pickup

In order to schedule a donation pickup, please:

  1. Review our full list of accepted donation items.
  2. Email our ReStore Manager Amanda at donations@habitatmc.com with photos and description of your donation.
  3. If approved, schedule and pay for your donation pickup through the link sent to you.
  4. Habitat will come and pickup your donation on the agreed upon date.

Acceptable ReStore Donation Items

Appliances

(Must be less than 10 years of age and in full working condition.)

  • Microwaves
  • Refrigerators and freezers
  • Stoves
  • Washers and dryers

  • Dishwashers-2014 or newer
  • AC Units –no more than 5yrs old
  • Heaters
  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Unused countertop appliances
Flooring & Hardware
  • Unused tile in original boxes
  • Unused hardwood or laminate flooring (full lengths) in original boxes
  • Carpets (no remnants, never installed,must be at least 8’x8’)
  • New vinyl sheets
  • Full boxes of nails and screws
  • Doorknobs and hinges
  • Shelving brackets
  • Connectors of all types
  • Cabinet pulls, knobs and hinges
  • Register covers
Building Materials & Tools

(No repairs to cords and no manufacturer recalls.)

  • Roofing shingles (bundles, never used)
  • HVAC parts
  • Stair treads and railings
  • Vinyl covering wire shelving
  • Siding (full pieces, large quantities, and in box not loose)
  • Bricks
  • Concrete blocks
  • Tools
  • Hand tools – usable antique through modern
  • Power tools
Electrical & Lighting

(Must be in good working condition, newer models.)

  • TVs, stereos, and other electronics
  • New outlets/switches

Unacceptable ReStore Donation Items

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to refuse any item that does not meet the criteria on our ReStore Acceptable Donations List or our ReStore quality standards of:

    • Like new/gently used 
    • Reasonably clean, free of rust, food debris, stains, oils and excessive dirt 
    • No excessive scratches, dents, dings or other damage to item 
    • No defects, damage or repairs to the items structure 
    • Mechanical/electric items in good working order and should function as intended 

List of Unacceptable ReStore Donation Items:

  • Recalled items are strictly prohibited for resale. 
  • Corded window blinds. 
  • Children’s 12 yr and under furniture or equipment (car seats, swings, etc.) 
  • Any furniture or chests that have heavy latching or locking lids. 
  • Any items in need of more than minor cosmetic repair or that do not work or function as intended. 
  • Any item that has structural damage or has been structurally repaired. 
  • Mattresses. 
  • Plumbing pipes, fittings, fixtures, solder, flux used to transport potable water made prior to 2014 and not marked with “NS-61” stamp or as “lead free.” 
  • Any other materials or items that may contain harmful materials such as lead or asbestos. 
  • Used toilets, toilet seats or toilet parts. 
  • Flammable or Expired materials, gasses, chemicals etc. 
  • Gas or other fuel powered tools, appliances etc. 
  • Containers, pumps or sprayers that were previously used with chemicals. 
  • Toxic Chemicals such as cleaning chemicals that control or kill mold or mildew, hospital chemicals, industrial chemicals, pesticides, poisons or baits, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides or pool chemicals. 
  • Leftover household chemicals that are partially used, leaky, or unlabeled including cleaning chemicals, paints, batteries. 
  • Specific light bulbs; Incandescent (new regulations) Fluorescent, Halogen, Sodium, CFL (mercury exposure). 

  • Specific Used Items; 
    • Medical equipment (crutches, wheelchairs etc.) 
    •  Smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors or other detectors 
    • Ladders that do not have original and legible labels. 
    • Safety items (helmets, hard hats, harnesses, protective suits, child safety items etc.) 
  • Any overly large or heavy items that we may not have appropriate equipment to move, such as pianos, entertainment centers, full size carpet rolls, large granite, or other stone slabs etc. 
  • Upholstered, fabric, padded items or furniture including used/cut carpet. 
  • Bedroom furniture. 
  • Clothing. 
  • Decorative knick knacks.  
  • Cookware, dinnerware, glassware, and assorted kitchenware. 
  • Books, magazines, movies, posters etc. 
  • Toys. 
  • Loose glass or mirrors. 
  • Laptops, desktops, jump drives. 
  • Any type of weapons or fireworks.
