Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has launched a raffle featuring a piece of regional romantic history — an iconic heart-shaped tub from the Poconos, long known as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.”

The organization is selling raffle tickets with proceeds supporting their mission of providing safe, affordable and equitable housing throughout Monroe County.

Tickets are available for purchase online or at the Monroe County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Pricing options include single tickets for $5, three tickets for $10, or 10 tickets for $20.

A winner will be selected during a Facebook Live drawing scheduled for noon Sept. 1, Labor Day. Those interested in participating have until noon Aug. 29 to purchase tickets.

The heart-shaped tub represents a significant piece of Pocono regional culture and tourism history, with these distinctive fixtures once being a major draw for honeymooning couples visiting the area’s resorts.
