MARSHALLS CREEK, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The holiday season has come to an end, but you may now have some unwanted gifts lying around.

Anything from bathroom sinks, fixture supplies, and furniture fill the space inside ‘Restore’ at the village center at Marshalls Creek.

“Restore is a thrift store where people can buy things at 50% to 60% off retail prices.”

Executive director Scott Fabian says the shop, which opened in September, has been successful, but every little bit helps when it comes to donations.

“We’re helping people repair homes and rehab homes, and help struggling renters so it is very important that we do that, and by spending your money here, it stays in Monroe County and you save money at the same time.” . . . “Say you got something for Christmas or Hanukkah that you didn’t really want, you’re welcome to donate it here and it helps your neighbors have safe and decent homes.”

He says they call their work a hand-up, not a handout, and they hope for the community’s continued support as they keep seeing a need for its resources due to a lack of affordable housing in the Poconos.
