STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Habitat for Humanity donated bags of coats to Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church Thursday afternoon.

Workers at Habitat for Humanity were at a home they were going to rehabilitate when they saw bags of clothes among the many abandoned contents in the house.

“Ken, our volunteer coordinator, got a bunch of volunteers together to pack up those clothes that were in there. We found a lot of great winter clothes and the team thought it’d be a great idea instead of just recycling those clothes to donate it to one of our local shelters to help people in this cold season,” said Monroe County Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Scott Fabian.

“Scott reached out to us to let us know that he had some really good winter coats and we have a clothing closet that we give clothes away to whoever might be in a season of need whoever might need it and this time of year coats are very much needed, so we’re really grateful,” Co-lead Pastor Lynda Keefer explained.
