Item Description

One of the first treasures discovered in the Monroe County Habitat for Humanity ReStore’s storage area, this oil-on-canvas painting features a seated figure in profile, with expressive impasto brushstrokes, a bold crimson background, and decorative abstract motifs. Its style recalls early 20th-century European Expressionism and Fauvism, though the artist and exact date remain unverified. The canvas shows some water damage and evidence of a previous restoration attempt, but its vibrant colors and distinctive composition make it an intriguing piece for a collection or conversation starter. Estimated value: $250–$500, unframed and in its current condition. Starting bid: $75.00.
